Ras Purnima is the most sacred and visually rich religious festival of the Manipuri community, centered on Ras Leela—a classical dance-drama portraying the divine love of Radha and Krishna. This 7-Day Ras Purnima Manipuri Cultural Photography Tour is designed as a deep cultural immersion, combining indigenous ritual and performance, tea garden life, ethnic communities, river-based urban culture, and powerful industrial labour narratives. The tour is ideal for foreign photographers, anthropologists, visual storytellers, and culture-focused travelers who seek authentic, respectful access to living traditions and rare cultural expressions.

Led by Istiyak Ahamed Srabon, an experienced professional tour guide in Dhaka, the tour takes you beyond usual landmarks. From hidden alleys to iconic sites, every stop is carefully curated to offer the best opportunities for photography, cultural exploration, and storytelling. With Photo Tour Bangla, your day is crafted to combine learning, adventure, and authentic experiences.

Day 1 – Dhaka: Market, Movement & Marginal Lives

Document Dhaka’s food supply chain and constant human movement. Karwan Bazar offers intense scenes of labour and trade, while nearby railway tracks and informal settlements reveal survival on the margins. Kamalapur Railway Station captures motion, waiting, and departure.

Day 2 – Buriganga River: Port & Shipyard Life

Explore Dhaka’s historic river port and cross the Buriganga to access shipyards where vessels are built, repaired, dismantled, and painted entirely by hand—one of the most visually intense labour environments in Bangladesh.

Day 3 – Dhaka → Sylhet (Flight) → Sreemangal

Fly to Sylhet and continue to Sreemangal, the Tea Capital of Bangladesh. Photograph rolling tea gardens, tea pluckers at work, daily life in worker colonies, and visit Manipuri Para where dance, weaving, and community life remain central.

Day 4 – Ras Purnima: Manipuri Rituals & Ras Leela (Core Day)

Ras Purnima marks the full moon night when Lord Krishna performed the divine Ras dance with Radha and the Gopis. For the Manipuri community, Ras Leela is a sacred offering, not entertainment. Young girls perform slow, graceful movements in traditional white costumes under strict discipline and devotion.

Experience Includes:

  • Morning preparations and costumes
  • Community prayers
  • Full Ras Leela performances (day & evening)
  • Immersion in village festival life

Day 5 – Sylhet → Dhaka (Flight) | Brick Kilns

After returning to Dhaka, document traditional brick kilns, covering clay preparation, moulding, drying, firing, and manual transportation—an essential yet harsh industry.

Day 6 – Coal Yards & Plastic Recycling

Document Bangladesh’s informal industrial backbone, from coal yards supplying energy to recycling units where plastic waste is sorted, washed, melted, and reused.

Day 7 – Fabric Drying Fields & Urban Chaos

Photograph vibrant textile-drying fields where dyed fabrics stretch across open spaces. Conclude the tour with Dhaka’s iconic traffic chaos—a visual metaphor of movement, density, and energy.
