This 10-day expedition centers around Rakher Upobash, one of Bangladesh’s most visually stunning and spiritually profound religious traditions. Held during the final part of the Bengali month of Kartik, Hindu devotees fast and gather at Loknath temples and ashrams to light rows of small earthen and ghee lamps in a deeply personal display of faith, prayer, and devotion. Beyond the festival, the tour provides an immersive documentary journey through Bangladesh’s heavy industries, rivers, brickfields, textile-drying fields, and working coastal communities.
