Hidden Bangladesh: Ethnic Communities & Indigenous Life Photography Tour is a 7-Day documentary photography journey designed to explore this less-seen side of the country.
The tour takes photographers from Madhupur in Tangail to the tea gardens of Sreemangal, the Khasi settlements of Lawachara, the ethnic communities of Dinajpur, and finally Lama in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, while also visiting a Telugu settlement in Dhaka.
Rather than simply visiting ethnic villages as tourists, the tour is designed around human stories, environmental portraits, traditional clothing, homes, occupations, cultural practices, and everyday community life with Photo Tour Bangla.
Arrival at Dhaka International Airport and private transfer to your hotel. After check-in and some time to rest, we begin with a gentle introduction to the city depending on arrival time. If conditions permit, we explore the surrounding neighbourhood for an initial introduction to Dhaka’s streets, people, and everyday life.
We begin early in Old Dhaka, exploring its historic neighbourhoods, narrow streets, traditional businesses, rickshaws, markets, and architectural details. The afternoon moves towards Karwan Bazar, where wholesale commerce creates a completely different photographic atmosphere. This is a day dedicated primarily to street and documentary photography.
We leave Dhaka and travel towards Sreemangal, entering the green landscapes of Moulvibazar. After arrival and check-in, we begin exploring the surrounding tea-growing landscape. Sreemangal’s tea estates, rolling green terrain, and surrounding rural environment make it one of Bangladesh’s strongest locations for landscape photography.
We spend the full day exploring the diverse photographic locations around Sreemangal. This includes early morning shoots in the tea gardens when mist often lingers over the hills, visits to rubber gardens, and exploring local tribal villages to capture environmental portraits. We also spend time interacting with tea-plucking communities in their daily working environment.
